London House Cleaning Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which London House Cleaning provides domestic and related cleaning services within the United Kingdom. By making a booking, using our services, or allowing our cleaners access to your property, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing any booking.

Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings stated:

Client means the person, company, or organisation making the booking or benefiting from the cleaning services.

Company means London House Cleaning, the provider of the cleaning services.

Services means domestic and related cleaning services supplied by the Company, including regular cleaning, one off cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, deep cleaning, and any associated services agreed between the parties.

Cleaner means any individual or team member assigned by the Company to carry out the Services at the Client property.

Property means the residential or other premises where the Services are carried out.

Scope of Services

The Company provides domestic and related cleaning services within its designated service area, which generally covers London and surrounding districts, subject to availability and operational limits at the time of booking. The specific type of service, the frequency, and the expected duration will be agreed at the time of booking and confirmed by the Company.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Services do not include external window cleaning at height, removal of heavy or hazardous items, specialist carpet or upholstery restoration, pest control, or any services that require professional trade qualifications or licences.

Booking Process

Bookings may be requested by the Client through the Company booking channels as made available from time to time. By submitting a booking request, the Client confirms that all information provided is accurate, complete, and up to date.

All bookings are subject to acceptance and confirmation by the Company. A booking is considered confirmed when the Company sends explicit confirmation of the date, time, service type, and any applicable charges. The Company reserves the right to decline any booking request without providing a reason.

The Client must ensure adequate access to the Property at the agreed time. Any access instructions, entry codes, or key arrangements must be communicated to the Company in advance. Where the Client is not present, the Client must ensure that a secure and lawful method of entry has been organised.

For regular cleaning services, the Company will use reasonable efforts to allocate the same Cleaner or team for each visit, but this cannot be guaranteed. The Company may substitute Cleaners or adjust schedules where necessary to maintain service continuity.

Client Obligations

The Client agrees to provide a safe working environment for the Cleaner at all times. This includes ensuring that the Property is reasonably free from hazards, that electricity and water are available, and that any pets are secured or controlled so they do not interfere with the Services.

The Client must inform the Company in advance of any special requirements, delicate items, or surfaces that require particular care or specific products. If the Client has allergies or sensitivities to certain cleaning products, this must be highlighted before the service is carried out.

The Client is responsible for securing cash, jewellery, and other valuables before the Cleaner attends. The Company does not accept responsibility for loss of valuables that have not been properly secured or documented.

Cleaning Materials and Equipment

Unless otherwise agreed, the Company will generally provide standard cleaning products and basic equipment required to perform the Services to an appropriate standard. If the Client requires the use of particular products or eco friendly solutions, this must be agreed in advance and may incur additional charges depending on the request.

The Client is responsible for providing access to electrical sockets and for allowing safe use of any equipment located at the Property that the Cleaner is asked to use, such as vacuum cleaners, steam mops, or other appliances. The Company is not liable for damage arising from pre existing faults or misuse of Client equipment.

Pricing and Payment Terms

Service charges are based on the type of service, duration, frequency, and location of the Property. Current rates will be communicated at the time of booking. All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and may be subject to applicable taxes where required by law.

Payment is due in accordance with the payment terms notified at the time of booking. The Company may require full or partial payment in advance for one off or end of tenancy cleans. Regular cleaning services may be billed per visit, weekly, or monthly, as agreed with the Client.

The Company reserves the right to suspend or cancel any Services where payment has not been received by the due date. The Client remains responsible for any outstanding balances in respect of Services already provided.

The Company may review and adjust its prices from time to time. Any change in pricing for ongoing regular services will be notified to the Client in advance. Continued use of the Services after notification of a price change will constitute acceptance of the new rates.

Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Access Issues

The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving notice to the Company, subject to any minimum notice period communicated at the time of booking. Where the Client provides less than the required notice, the Company reserves the right to charge a late cancellation or rescheduling fee up to the full value of the booked service.

If the Cleaner is unable to gain access to the Property at the agreed time due to circumstances within the Client control, such as missing keys, locked doors, or inaccurate access instructions, this may be treated as a late cancellation and charged accordingly.

In the event of severe weather, transport disruption, or other circumstances beyond the Company reasonable control, the Company may need to reschedule or cancel a booking at short notice. The Company will use reasonable efforts to arrange an alternative appointment as soon as possible but will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by such changes.

Service Quality and Complaints

The Company aims to provide a high standard of cleaning services across its service area. If the Client is not satisfied with any aspect of the Service, the Client should notify the Company as soon as reasonably possible, with details of the issue and, where applicable, supporting information.

Where a complaint relates to the quality of cleaning, the Client must report the issue within a reasonable time frame after the service visit, so the Company has an opportunity to review the matter and, where appropriate, arrange a re clean of the affected areas. Any re clean shall be at the Company discretion and limited to the specific areas and issues reported.

Liability and Insurance

The Company will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing the Services. The Company maintains appropriate insurance cover, including public liability insurance, in line with industry practice for domestic cleaning services within the UK.

Where damage to the Property or its contents is caused directly by the negligence of the Cleaner while performing the Services, the Company liability will be limited, at its option, to repairing the damage, replacing the item with an item of similar value, or paying the reasonable cost of repair or replacement. The Client must report any such damage as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than a reasonable period after discovering it.

The Company shall not be liable for any of the following: normal wear and tear; pre existing damage; deterioration of items due to age or condition; discolouration of surfaces or fabrics that are not colourfast or have not been properly maintained; or damage arising from the use of unsuitable or defective products or equipment supplied by the Client.

The Company shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of enjoyment, or loss of opportunity arising from the provision or non provision of the Services, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits the Company liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations

The Company operates in accordance with applicable UK waste and environmental regulations relevant to its cleaning activities. The Cleaner will collect and dispose of domestic waste generated during the course of normal cleaning within the Property using the bins and receptacles provided by the Client.

The Company does not provide commercial waste removal or hazardous waste disposal services. The Cleaner will not remove from the Property any waste classified as hazardous, including but not limited to chemicals, solvents, paint, medical waste, sharps, biological waste, or electrical items requiring specialist disposal. It is the Client responsibility to arrange appropriate disposal of such items.

Where recycling facilities are available at the Property, the Cleaner will place recyclable materials in the appropriate containers if clearly labelled and as instructed by the Client. The Company is not responsible for the collection of wheelie bins or for any local authority rules on waste collection and segregation.

Health, Safety, and Security

The Company takes health and safety seriously and expects Clients to support a safe working environment. The Cleaner is instructed not to undertake tasks that may reasonably be considered unsafe, such as working at significant height without proper equipment, lifting excessively heavy items, or using cleaning products in a manner inconsistent with manufacturer instructions.

The Client must not request the Cleaner to perform any task that is unlawful, unsafe, or outside the agreed scope of Services. The Company may suspend the Services immediately if it believes there is a risk to the health, safety, or security of the Cleaner.

Where keys or access devices are provided to the Company, these will be handled with appropriate care. The Client is responsible for notifying the Company promptly if any access arrangements need to be changed for security reasons.

Privacy and Data Protection

The Company will handle personal data of Clients in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. Personal information is collected only to the extent necessary to manage bookings, deliver Services across the service area, and maintain Client relationships.

The Company will not sell or deliberately disclose Client personal data to third parties except where required by law or where necessary for the provision of the Services, such as sharing limited information with Cleaners for scheduling and access purposes.

Termination of Regular Services

Either party may terminate regular ongoing cleaning services by giving the notice period specified at the outset of the arrangement, or, if none is specified, by giving reasonable written notice. The Company reserves the right to terminate the Services with immediate effect where the Client is in material breach of these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to non payment, abusive behaviour, or unsafe conditions at the Property.

Upon termination, the Client remains responsible for payment of all Services already carried out and any applicable fees arising from late cancellation where notice requirements have not been met.

Amendments to Terms and Conditions

The Company may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, operational practices, or service offerings. The current version will apply to all new bookings from the date it is made available. For ongoing regular services, the Company will notify Clients of any significant changes. Continued use of the Services after such notification will be deemed acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services provided by the Company.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, such provision shall be treated as deleted, but the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any service description or booking confirmation issued by the Company, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence, or understandings regarding the Services.
